Alvin has served the judicial courts of Texas since 1982. Alvin experience runs the gamut of state and federal courtroom experience from both the state side and the defense side. Highlights of Alvin’s career include:

  • Assistant Prosecutor under District Attorney John Holmes
  • Assistant Prosecutor under District Attorney Tim Curry
  • Assistant Attorney General under Attorney General Jim Madox
  • Private Criminal Defense Attorney

Alvin’s campaign for judge can be summarized as three steps to fairness.

  • "Respect. I will respect both sides. The oath to follow the law that all judges take means that I have a sworn obligation to listen and weigh the arguments on both sides.
  • Fairness. In my judgments, I will seek fairness and have and have compassion for all sides.
  • Knowledge. I will strive to always be knowledgeable of the law such that the decisions I make comply with the laws of the State of Texas and the United States."

Client’s Testimonials

When my daughter decided that she was interested in law school, I asked my co-worker's (Dr. Nunnery) husband to mentor her through the process. Alvin mentored my daughter and helped her affirm that this career choice is certainly her life's calling. Alvin had a profound impact on my daughter's career decisions and was a vital part of her senior year at Rice University. It is this type of commitment that would make Alvin a great judge.
